What is Fiber Collimator?

Fiber collimator is a passive device. It is a module that combines a fiber and a lens, as well as has a function to produce parallel beams. It is usually made of a curved mirror or lens with the light source placed at its focus, which is used to make divergent light into a parallel beam or coupler the parallel beam into the fiber. Fiber collimator is usually available with different wavelengths (850 nm, 980 nm, 1060 nm, 1310 nm, 1550 nm), which could be adjustable in practice.

Collimating lens is the G-lens used in the fiber collimator.Fiber collimators are devices for collimating the light coming from a fiber, or for launching collimated light into the fiber.

Collimating G-lens:

It is mainly applid to the connection of divergent light beams, specially,be used in passive optical devices widely,like fiber collimators, fiber couplers, optical switches, and optical isolators

Small size, easy to assemble

Diameter: 0.5mm, 1.0mm, 1.8mm, 2.0mm, 2.5mm, 3.0mm or customize(tolerence±0.005mm)

Pitch: 0.23P, 0.248P or customize(Length±0.02mm)

Angles: 2°, 6°, 8°, 10°, 12° or customize(±0.5°)

Coating Wavelength: 400nm-700nm, 800nm-1100nm, 1250nm-1650nm, 980nm/1550nm, 850nm/1310nm or customize

Coating: AR coating/Hi-reflection coating at double-sides or single-side,or no coating

 

Double-side Plano Coupling G-Lens:

This lens can couple the light emitted by the light source into SM/MM fibers, mainly used in fiber laser products and active optical devices.

Typical Features:

High coupling efficiency and easy assembly

Main use: laser coupling, coupling between fibers

Diameter: 0.5mm, 1.0mm, 1.8mm, 3.0mm or customize(tolerence±0.005mm)

Pitch: 0.11P, 0.14P, 0.17P, 0.23P or customize(Length±0.02mm)

Angles:90±0.5°

Coating Wavelength: 532nm,400nm-700nm,660nm/780nm-1000nm、1250nm-1650nm or customize

Coating: AR coating/Hi-reflection coating at double-sides or single-side,or no coating

 

Coupling Lensed G-lens:

This lens is with curved endface,that can improve coupling efficiency.Mainly be used for active optical devices,it can couple the light in SM/MM fibers

Typical Features:

Higher coupling efficiency,easy assembly

Small spherical aberration

Wide receiving angle

More concentrated and smaller light spots
